Kleokatra

Hi there crafty friends,

Today I'm sharing a little ATC that I made for my crafty buddy Annabel the pawesome artiste responsible for Knitty Kitty digi stamps. This is Kleokatra.

The Ancient Egyptians held cats in the highest esteem, the penalties for injuring or killing a cat were severe. They worshipped a Cat Goddess, often represented as half feline, half woman, whom they called Bastet. Of course Kleokatra was one of the most famous of all Egyptian Queens.

During more than two decades as Egypt’s last independent pharaoh, she engaged in ruthless power struggles with her siblings, battled the future Roman emperor and engaged in military alliances—and passionate affairs—with Julius Caesar and Mark Antony.
She was known for her amazing beauty at the time, but a coin was found that was 2,000 years old. It showed that she was not as beautiful as she was made out to be. Her picture showed a sharp chin and nose with a flat mouth. No rouged lips or plump cheeks there. Story of my life !!

You can find her here at the store
